Tips for purchasing Himalayan cats

1. Head: The overall head of a Himalayan cat must be wide and round, with a round forehead and a round lower jaw. The entire head must be short and round. The thick neck is well coordinated. The nose is short and flat, and the cheeks and palate are plump and round. Remember, it is a fault if you have a convex face.

2. Ears: Himalayan cat ears are small, and the overall shape is a small triangle, but the ends of the ears are slightly rounded, the base of the ears is not wide, and the distance between the ears is wide and lower than the head cover.

3. Eyes: Himalayan cat eyes are large, round, slightly protruding, very bright, with a slightly wider distance between the eyes. The eyes are blue, and the bluer, the better. Those with non-blue eyes are inferior.

4. Body: Himalayan cats have a typical short and fat body shape, with a deep and wide chest, shoulders as wide as the waist, and well-expanded and rounded ribs. The lower abdomen should be drawn up and should not be too thin or abnormally swollen. The back is short and the topline is very flat. There should be no deformity in the back when selecting.

5. Limbs: Himalayan cats have short, fat and straight limbs with strong bones. The feet are big, round and very powerful.

6. Tail: The Himalayan cat’s tail is very thick and medium in length, especially not too short, and must be in proportion to the body. Can be lowered below the topline when walking, but does not drag the floor.

7. Coat: The coat of Himalayan cats is long and dense, standing up instead of sticking to the body surface. The hair is soft, silky and shiny. The nape of the neck is richly feathered, forming a ruffle. The hair between the ears and toes is long, and the tail hair is rich.

8. Coat color: Himalayan cat body hair colors include seal fur, blue, chocolate, lilac, white, red, etc. The spots are seal spots, blue spots, chocolate spots, lilac spots, cream spots, mixed spots, lynx spots, etc. There should be obvious contrast between the body hair color and the spots. There are dark spots on the face, ears, limbs, toes and tail, and those with the same color are preferred.
