Five common eye diseases in Ragdoll cats:

1. Retinal detachment. Retinal detachment can be caused by injuries, infectious diseases, genetics or an imbalanced diet.

2. Conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis can be caused by bacterial and viral infections, trauma, allergies, irritation from drugs or plants, garbage and dust, etc.

3. Glaucoma. Glaucoma is caused by an increase in the anterior chamber fluid between the cornea and the lens, causing an increase in intraocular pressure and an inability to circulate eye fluid.

4. Keratitis. Eyelash growth, eye trauma, and entropion of the eyelids can all lead to corneal inflammation. Vitamin A deficiency and malnutrition can also cause corneal softening.

5. Epiphora. Caused by excessive tear secretion or blocked tear ducts.

Treatment methods for 5 common eye diseases in Ragdoll cats:

1. Retinal detachment. The owner needs to send the cat to the hospital promptly. The only treatment is surgery. It is difficult to restore the cat to its normal level with drug treatment.

2. Conjunctivitis. Treat with eye drops containing antibiotics.

3. Glaucoma. Seek immediate medical attention and drain the fluid as soon as possible to relieve eye pressure.

4. Keratitis. Cats need to wear Elizabethan rings to prevent cats from scratching their eyes and worsening symptoms, and use anti-inflammatory and antibacterial eye drops under the guidance of a doctor.

5. Epiphora. The veterinarian will try to flush the nasolacrimal ducts, maintain good cleaning habits to keep the fur at the corners of the eyes clean and dry, and use steroid-free eye drops.
