Cat folliculitis is inflammation. Folliculitis is a skin disease, mostly caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites, etc., which causes endocrine disorders and blocks pores, easily causing inflammation. In severe cases, it can lead to swelling and suppuration, and the cat will feel pain and itching. Generally, folliculitis is relatively easy to treat, as long as the cause is identified and symptomatic treatment is required.

Causes for cats suffering from folliculitis:

1. Greasy food. Cat food that is too oily, or cats eating too much greasy meat, may increase the incidence of folliculitis in cats.

2. Endocrine disorders. Sexually mature cats may suffer from endocrine disorders due to estrus. When the levels of sex hormones in the body are too high, endocrine disorders may cause folliculitis.

3. Insufficient cleaning. If your cat is not cleaned for a long time, it will easily accumulate oil and cause folliculitis.

4. High pressure. External pressure on its emotions will cause the cat to feel uncomfortable all over, and may lead to symptoms of folliculitis due to endocrine disorders.

5. Use plastic food bowls. Plastic can harbor dirt and bacteria, which can easily trigger black jowls when cats come into contact with dirty food and water dishes.
