The food habits of turtles are relatively complex, and their food can be roughly divided into four types: cereals, animals, feed, and fruits and vegetables. Cereals generally include wheat, corn, rice, etc. Animals are mostly insects and meat, such as beef, mealworms, small fish and shrimps, earthworms, pork, etc. The feed is generally well-balanced, such as turtle food, dried shrimp, dried earthworms, etc. Fruits and vegetables are mostly used as complementary foods and need to be chopped and fed, such as apples, pears, watermelons, bananas, etc.

Precautions for feeding turtles:

1. Choose food suitable for the size of the turtle. For example, in the juvenile and hatchling stages, you can add fish, The shrimp meat is minced and then mixed with powdered feed for feeding. Sub-adult and adult turtles can directly process fish and shrimp meat into block feed suitable for the size of their mouths. Large fish bones in the fish meat should be removed to avoid causing damage to the turtle's esophagus, thereby causing damage to the turtle.

2. Different foods should be processed differently. For example, for snail foods, the shells should be crushed before feeding. Usually, multivitamins, calcium additives, etc. can be appropriately mixed into the turtle feed at intervals to meet the nutritional and physiological needs of the turtle during its growth process. When the weather temperature changes greatly, especially when the temperature drops by more than 3°C, you can feed less or not at all to avoid indigestion in the turtle.

3. Turtles need a lot of calcium, so they should be fed more foods containing a lot of calcium, such as shrimps. If you feed the little turtle meat or other things, the water will deteriorate, so you need to change the water of the turtle frequently to keep it clean. Unclean water can also cause turtles to become sick.

4. When the turtle is usually fed a lot of food, the leftover turtle food must be fished out, otherwise the water will quickly become smelly. In winter, it is best not to let the turtle hibernate to maintain the temperature.
