Methods to treat cat constipation:

1. You can feed your cat pumpkin. Pumpkin is rich in dietary fiber, which can also help cats promote digestion and prevent constipation. If your cat is already constipated, you can add a small amount of butter to the pumpkin to further lubricate the intestines and promote defecation.

2. Feed the cat a certain amount of paraffin oil. Paraffin oil is a lubricating oil that does not react with the intestinal tract, and this oil is colorless and odorless. It can be mixed with food and given to cats. It is generally recommended to put it in cans, 3-4 grams each time.

3. Increase drinking water. Food in the intestines tends to stagnate and dry out, primarily due to a lack of water in the intestinal wall, which will prevent peristalsis. Therefore, if the cat cannot excrete feces, it needs to drink a lot of water to stimulate gastrointestinal motility.

4. In addition to meat, cats should also be fed some fruits and vegetables. While feeding cat food, you can mix some vegetables with meat, and then cut the fruits into small pieces and mix them together for consumption.

Causes of constipation in cats:

1. Hair balls. Because cats habitually lick their fur, the hair will be swallowed by the cat. If the supply of cat grass is insufficient, excessive accumulation of hair in the stomach will cause constipation.

2. As you age, gastrointestinal motility weakens. Older cats have weakened gastrointestinal functions and poor digestion, so they are prone to slow passage of food from the intestines and excessive absorption of water in the intestines, resulting in dry feces.
