Our more common dystocia is uterine atony, which refers to the absence or contraction of uterine contractions in female cats. Very weak, the main reasons are insufficient nutrition during pregnancy, excessive obesity, hormonal imbalance, and the cat is too old, etc.

Solutions to cat dystocia:

1. The owner can try to massage the abdomen first, and use the palm of the hand to press the abdominal wall with the frequency of the female cat’s abdominal contraction, from light to heavy. , to encourage it to strengthen contraction and produce kittens.

2. If massage is useless, it is recommended to send the baby directly to the hospital for assisted delivery with medication. Often when a kitten is still not born after massaging the abdominal wall for more than 30 minutes, you can choose to subcutaneously inject posterior pituitary hormone and diethylstilbestrol to promote the contraction of uterine smooth muscle and the opening of the cervix, so that the kitten can be delivered smoothly.

3. Traction the fetus. If the kitten has been exposed for more than 5 minutes and still fails to be delivered, the female cat should be laid down on its side, with the left hand against the cat's shoulder, the right hand holding the exposed part and gently pushing it into the pelvic cavity, and then gently turning the kitten toward the cat.
