How to raise pigeons for novices:

1. Pigeonhouse. Pigeons are animals that like quietness, so the pigeonhouse must be quiet and guard against harassment from the outside world. It must also be cleaned and disinfected frequently to maintain a clean environment.

2. Disinfection. Novice pigeon raisers should not disinfect the pigeon house too frequently. If disinfected frequently, the smell will irritate the pigeons and have a bad impact. Pay attention to disinfecting the pigeon house regularly.

3. Feeding. Pigeons should be fed regularly and quantitatively in the morning, noon and evening every day, and the position of the trough should be fixed so that the pigeons can develop the habit of returning to the nest on time and eating at fixed points.

4. Take a bath. Pigeons are generally released, so bathing is essential. Pigeon bathing can effectively keep feathers clean and prevent external parasites. Generally, bathing is done at noon on a sunny day, 5-7 times a week, and 1-2 times in winter. A small amount of iodine or potassium permanganate can be added to the bath water.

5. Pairing. After the pigeons become sexually mature, the male and female will chase each other. At this time, mates must be selected in a timely manner. Otherwise, pigeons that do not have a mate during the estrus period are prone to flight loss. Generally, the pairing can be successful in 2 to 3 days.
