How to distinguish male and female budgies:

1. Observe the head shape: The male bird’s head shape is dorsal, pointed, and slightly smaller. The head shape of the female bird is flat, smooth, and completely round. Compared with the male bird, the head is slightly larger.

2. Look at the body shape: the male bird is thin, has tight fur, is active, and has a fierce nature. The eye circles are far away from the top of the head and the eyes are small. The female bird is fatter, has looser hair, is less active, has eye circles closer to the top of her head, and her eyes are larger.

3. Lying on the bar: The male bird is standing on the bar, with its head held high and looking strong. The female bird lies on the pole in a crouching position, leaning on the pole, and is docile.

4. Look at the tips of the tail feathers: The tips of the male bird's tail feathers are pointed, while the tips of the female's tail feathers are forked in a W shape. The male bird's tail feathers are V-shaped.

5. Touch the cloaca with your hands: The cloaca of the male bird shows a small distance between the pubic bones and an emerging protrusion (i.e. a sharp object).
