Methods for treating rotten skin of Malayan closed-shell turtles:

1. Ensure the breeding temperature is 25-30 degrees. Use a special ceramic heater or infrared heating lamp for reptiles to heat the air in the Malayan closed-shell turtle breeding box, and pay attention to frequent ventilation to avoid the growth of pathogenic microorganisms caused by high temperature and humidity.

2. It is recommended to maintain it dry and bathe 2-3 times a day, each bath lasting 10-15 minutes.

3. During dry care, apply 5% povidone-iodine solution to the affected area several times a day. When raising in water, you can soak Malayan closed-shell turtles in 5% povidone-iodine solution, the ratio of solution: water = 1:500-1000.

4. For Malayan closed-shelled turtles that have severe rotten skin or refuse to eat due to rotten skin, oral antibiotics are recommended for treatment.

Causes of rotten skin in Malay closed-shelled turtles:

1. Rotten skin is caused by Monospora infection. Due to the high density of breeding, turtles bite and squeeze each other, causing skin trauma. After the invasion of bacteria, the skin tissue of the injured area will be red, swollen and necrotic.

2. Skin wounds that are not treated in time or are exposed to harsh environments are prone to infection, erosion, and odor. When the infection is very serious, the turtle will eat less or refuse water and food.

3. The breeding water quality is seriously polluted, which can easily cause turtles to become sick and rotten.
