1. Look at the coat color

Healthy puppies generally have clean coats, smooth and straight hair, shiny and tight back hair, and smooth and elastic skin.

2. Look at the nose

A healthy puppy’s nose is moist and smooth, and feels cold to the touch. If the nose is very dry and there is purulent secretion around it, or the nasal mucosa is congested and ulcerated, it means that the puppy is sick.

3. Look at the eyes

A healthy puppy’s eyes are bright, not cloudy, and the cornea has no damage or ulcers. The fundus is clear and there are no bleeding spots. Puppies with a lot of eye feces usually have inflammation in their eyes or diseases in other parts of their bodies.

IV. Look at the tail

A healthy puppy’s tail swings freely and is usually pointed upward.

5. Check the body temperature

The normal body temperature of a healthy puppy is between 38.5 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius.

Six. Look at the anus

A healthy puppy has a clean anus and anal glands that are not red or swollen. If the puppy's anus is very dirty, it means the puppy has diarrhea.

In short: the tip of the nose is slightly cool, there is no secretion from the mouth, nose, eyes, anus, penis sheath or vulva, and the hair around the perineum is clean. There were no ulcers or secretions on the mucous membranes of the lips, oral cavity and tongue. The teeth are strong, white, without tartar or gum ulcers, and the sclera of the eyes are free of yellow staining. The joints of the limbs can move freely without swelling or tenderness. The animals do not scratch, lick or bite the body, head, neck or limbs. The skin is elastic against the body wall.
