How to change dog food for Husky
It is best to feed Huskies 3-6 months old puppy dog food or professional puppy food such as goat milk powder and milk cake. Don’t feed too much at each meal, because the gastrointestinal tract of puppies is relatively fragile, and feeding too much can easily cause gastrointestinal pressure and burden on the dog.
After 8 months, you can switch your Husky to dog food. For adult Huskies, it is generally sufficient to feed them according to human eating habits every day. Feed professional adult dog food 2-3 times a day. After the Husky turns eight years old, the dog food can be replaced by senior dog food.
Don’t change dog food too quickly. Dogs like food that they are gradually familiar with and are very sensitive to new food. This is because the various enzymes in the dog’s digestive tract need to adjust their content proportions to adapt to changes in food ingredients and nutrients.
The correct method is to gradually change the dog food to the dog. It usually takes more than 10 days to replace the old brand with a new brand. Before feeding, mix the new dog food with the current homemade food or other brands of pet food, and then gradually increase the proportion of the new dog food every day until it is completely replaced with the new dog food.
It is recommended to add a little bit of new dog food every day. Add 10% of the new dog food on the first day, 30% on the third day, 70% on the seventh day, and then replace it all with new dog food on the tenth day.
