Teddy sitting training method

During training, let the dog stand on the left side of the owner. While giving the "sit" command, lift the collar with your right hand and press the dog's waist corner with your left hand. When the dog is forced to sit down under this mechanical stimulation, a reward should be given immediately. After repeated training for many times, the dog can develop the movement of sitting down. You can also hold a snack in your hand, raise it above its head, and then tell it to sit down. The dog will naturally sit down when it looks up. Give a reward at this time. Repeat the same a few times and it will be done. On this basis, combine Gesture training. If you ask him to sit on the front, stretch his right arm flat forward, his forearm is vertical upward, and his palm faces forward to form an "L" shape; if he sits on the left side, tap his left abdomen with his left hand. If the dog can already do the "sitting" action, it should be gradually trained to extend the time it can sit, from being able to sit for 3-5 seconds until it is extended to more than 5 minutes.

Issues to pay attention to during training

(1) Pressing the waist corner must be accurate to achieve training effects.

(2) Correcting the dog's automatic release delay should be timely, preferably when the dog is about to move but is not completely destroyed. At the same time, the amount of stimulation should also be appropriately strong.

(3) For dogs with high excitability, be patient when training the sit-and-wait delay. Don’t ask for too much each time, and don’t make the improvement too large.

Teddy lying down training method

The lying down movement should be performed after the "sitting" movement is learned. During training, two methods can be used:

First, the owner is on the right side of the dog, facing the dog, holding the food in his right hand, slowly moving from the top of the dog's mouth to the bottom, and at the same time giving the lie down command, and pulling the leash downward to stimulate it. At this time, the dog can lie down under food and mechanical stimulation. When the dog lies down, reward it with food in time. In the future, as the conditioned reflex develops, rewards and stimulation will be gradually removed.

Secondly, the dog should squat down, hold the dog's forelimbs with both hands, stretch forward, and press the dog's shoulder with the left arm. According to the owner's instructions and gestures, the dog will be trained within a certain distance, use gestures to improve the level of movement, extend the instruction distance, and be able to lie down for more than 5 minutes.

Teddy standing training method

On the premise that the dog has learned the basic movement of sitting down, train the dog to stand. Shilling the dog to sit down, then gently lift the leash and issue the "stand" command and gesture (stretch the right arm in the direction of the dog) out, palm up), and when the dog stands, reward it. The owner should gradually leave the dog's side so that the dog can stand longer. On this basis, gradually develop the ability to stand according to gestures or commands and last for a certain period of time.

Special note: It is best not to exceed 15 minutes for each training session.

Teddy tug training method

During training, the owner stands opposite the dog and issues the "stop" command. After the dog stands firmly, give the command "Thank you". At the same time, grab the dog's forelimb with one hand and swing it up and down. After a few repetitions, reward with touch and food. Then move some distance away from the dog without the help of your hands when giving the command. If the dog can't do it, repeat a few times until the dog can do it. At the beginning of training, some simple gestures can be added, but the dog's conditioned reflex to the gestures should be prevented. When the movements are very stable, as long as the "Thank you" command is given, a series of reflection activities such as standing and snuggling can be completed at one time without issuing two commands.

These actions, sitting down are the basis of everything and need to be practiced repeatedly. Although sitting down is simple, we also need patience and cannot be too hasty. After learning the sitting action, we can then learn other things. For any action, it does not rule out that some dogs have more active personalities. When the dog does the action we want to train correctly, we must immediately give food as encouragement. In this way, the dog will remember that when it does the action the owner said, it will be rewarded with food.
