Dog Eczema - Symptoms of Acute Eczema

1. In the early stages of the dog's disease, the eczema area appears as dotted or erythematous eczema with different shapes, and the dog has obvious itching.
2. As dog eczema develops, it will appear in the papule stage, vesicle stage, pustule stage, and erosion stage. For example, in the pustular and erosive stages, there are mostly microbial infections, and the skin has an abnormal odor. And all had skin itching.
3. Sometimes dogs will cause skin damage due to scratching and friction, which will aggravate dermatitis.
4. Typical acute eczema presents as moist papules, with scattered small blisters on the papules, and some may be dissipated.

Dog Eczema - Symptoms of Chronic Eczema

1. The most common condition is the transformation of acute eczema.
2. Chronic eczema is characterized by recurring episodes, with symptoms such as thickening of the skin, scaling, pigmentation, rough coat, inverse erections, and worsening itching.
3. Chronic eczema is more common on the back or limbs of dogs.

Treatment methods for dog eczema

1. Adrenocortical hormone therapy: use dexamethasone tablets 0.2mg/kg body weight, orally or prednisone acetate tablets 1.0mg/kg body weight, orally. Apply fluocinolone acetonide or triamcinolone acetonide ointment to the affected skin. To prevent skin infection, apply it alternately with erythromycin ointment.
2. In the pus cell stage, penicillin and gentamicin can be injected intramuscularly to prevent infection. If the dog's symptoms are severe, it can be mixed with dexamethasone injection and injected intramuscularly, twice a day.
