The meaning of dog calming signals
Norwegian dog trainer and behaviorist Turid Rugaas proposed the term "calming signal", which refers to the dog's soothing posture. As the name suggests, "calming" means stability and calmness. There are three main purposes for dogs to send out "calming signals":
1. To relieve one's own nervousness and uneasiness and comfort oneself;
2. To relieve the other person's nervousness and uneasiness and comfort the other person;
3 .In order to inform the other party of your thoughts, remind the other party, and ease the atmosphere.

How to deal with dog calming signals
If you are scolding the dog, it is best to take a step back, stop scolding, or choose to treat it coldly. Especially for unfamiliar dogs, once these calming signals appear, you should stop moving immediately, otherwise you may be bitten.
