Life is precious, whether animal, plant or human. Nature gives us life, and we should cherish every life around us.
Just like the dying puppy that Jenny Desmond brought back from the roadside and miraculously recovered in the chimpanzee sanctuary!
While driving through a remote village in Liberia one day, Jenny Desmond found a dying puppy on the side of the road.
She got out of the car to check the situation and judged that the puppy's vitality was very weak. If it was not treated in time, it might live for one to two days at most.
Desmond and her husband immediately took the puppy back to the chimpanzee sanctuary for professional first aid.
The couple works to protect wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat in Liberia and often rescue chimpanzees from the exotic pet trade.
Not only do they focus on rescuing chimpanzees, but Desmond has rescued many other species of animals.
As a staff member of the reserve said, Desmond has rescued almost all kinds of animals, even as small as a chicken and a grasshopper.
This poor little dog is no exception. Coincidentally, Desmond's husband, Jim, is a veterinarian. Jim began treating the puppy, who they named Snafu.
In order to treat Snafu's wounds, a cone-like thing must be brought to it. Everyone was very concerned about Snafu's injury. Even the gorilla came to take care of Snafu and gave it a hug.
After several months of careful care, Snafu's condition improved and he gradually became healthier.
And Desmond has found a loving home for Snafu, and believes that it will start a new and happy life here.
