One thing to look at: Demeanor: Mental status is a comprehensive reflection of the functional status of the nervous system and the dog's health. A healthy dog ​​should have bright eyes, flexible ears and tail, and should respond quickly when someone approaches, showing active approach or avoidance. If your eyes are dull and you are depressed, you are more likely to get sick.

Second look at the overall situation: Observe whether the dog’s movements are flexible, whether its gait is steady, whether its coat is neat and smooth, whether its muscles are plump and well-proportioned, whether its limbs are symmetrical and strong, and whether there is any lameness. If there are obvious scars, pimples, hair loss, papules (small bumps) on the body surface, it means that the dog has or has suffered from skin diseases (scale mange, demodicosis, dermatomycosis, etc.).

Third look at the eyes: A healthy dog’s eyes are bright and energetic, the eyelashes are clean and tidy, and the eye rims are slightly moist. Many diseases of dogs are reflected in the eyes. Congestion and flushing of the conjunctiva (inside of the eyelids) are often signs of infectious diseases and thermal diseases. Yellow staining of the conjunctiva (appearing beige) indicates that there may be lesions in the dog's liver. Pale conjunctiva is often caused by anemia in dogs due to various reasons.
