Dogs can not only make good friends with humans, but can also make friends across races. It’s not uncommon for dogs to conquer cats with their gentle and sunny personalities, but the pairing of dogs and foxes is quite unusual. Jess's dog became good friends with a fox and even managed to trick the fox into thinking he was a dog.
Jess’s family’s Moose is an Australian Shepherd. When Moose was a puppy, their family of eight was abandoned in front of a pet hospital. What's even more unfortunate is that not long after they were discovered in the hospital, the mother dog died of a viral infection, leaving Moose and his six other siblings. After treatment, the seven dogs were sent to a local animal shelter. By chance, the owner went to the shelter and met Moose. The owner fell in love at first sight and immediately took the dog home.

When the dog slowly grew up into a mighty and handsome large dog, it welcomed its good friend Juniper. Juniper is a nurse born from artificial breeding in a fur factory. He was rescued by a rescue organization when he was five weeks old and found his way to Jess's home. The young fox was attracted by the dog as soon as he arrived home. The gentle and easy-going dog also took the initiative to comfort the anxious fox when he saw it. It didn't take long for them to become best friends, and Juniper was always smiling. In almost all photos taken with the dog, the fox looked happy.
After spending a long time with the dog, Juniper not only became the dog’s caring little jacket, but also gradually mastered some of the dog’s habits. They sleep together every day, groom each other, and roll around on the carpet or their owner's bed. When the dog is playing with its owner, the fox will always intervene, as if the dog is not allowed to abandon it. Sometimes the fox even chews the sofa like a dog, and the owner angrily teaches it a lesson. Even the normally smiling fox has a complex expression of grievance and disdain on his face.
Although dogs get along well with foxes, the owner also stated on Instagram that foxes themselves should not be raised by families. They have a strong smell and are naturally afraid of strangers. If the owner had not rescued it, the fox might not have survived. He won't stay at home. However, the dog has been exposed to various animals since he was a child. With his gentle personality, he easily gained the fox's trust and became the fox's guardian.
