How to treat pancreatitis in cats
Feline pancreatitis is divided into chronic and acute. Generally speaking, acute pancreatitis in cats is very rare. Cats suffering from acute pancreatitis need hospitalization for infusion treatment, medication to control pain and condition, and provide necessary nutrients. If the condition is not controlled in time, it may be life-threatening. Most cats with chronic pancreatitis do not need hospitalization. They may be food intolerance or food allergies. You can ask your veterinarian to re-plan their diet. If the expected effect is not obtained by changing the food, drug treatment is required. Antibiotics should be used with caution because of possible side effects, and steroids should be used with caution in cats with diabetes.
