Dogs with acute gastroenteritis need to fast for 24 hours. If the dog does not vomit, it can be infused with 5% glucose saline 1-2 times a day at 20-40 mg/kg body weight. If vomiting occurs, intramuscular injection of gastric acid can be administered. The dosage is 1 mg/kg of body weight twice a day. If necessary, dogs can take gentamicin and kanamycin under the guidance of a doctor. Generally, antibiotics are not required for acute gastroenteritis.
