In the early stage of cat fungal skin disease, the main symptoms are ring-shaped or oval-shaped hair loss, which continues to spread outwards, erythema, inflammation, accompanied by shedding of scales and scabs, and an unpleasant odor. The dandruff in the hair loss area will gradually increase, and the skin will appear dry. Sometimes there will be irregular bald spots with broken hair, covered with gray scales. In severe cases, many ringworm spots will become one.

Pigmentation in the lesion area is severe, and the cat’s skin will suffer from severe itching, especially at night. In the later stages of the disease, the hairless area may be covered with oily scabs.

The pet owner first needs to cut off the fur of the severely affected area of the cat, use a syringe needle to break the pustule, squeeze out the pus, and then use hydrogen peroxide or iodine for disinfection. When the affected area is slightly dry but not very dry, apply ointment.
