Bromadiolone

It is a second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide. It is one of the chronic rodenticides currently produced in large quantities. It not only has the slow action and palatability of the first-generation anticoagulant rodenticides such as diphacin sodium. It has good characteristics, such as rapid onset and strong toxicity. Its mechanism of action is to damage the liver lobules of the body, affect the production of thrombin, and cause the blood to lose coagulation power. It can also cause capillaries to rupture, cause internal bleeding, and cause death. The drug has low toxicity to poultry, but is highly toxic to rodents and humans. Cats are often poisoned by accidentally eating poisonous bait or ingesting poisoned mice multiple times.

Chronic poisoning first manifests as listlessness and anorexia, followed by mucosal bleeding in the mouth, nose, tongue, gums and other places. Pregnant cats may suffer from vaginal bleeding and miscarriage. The body temperature does not change much at the beginning of the disease. In the middle period, it may cause depression and visible mucous membranes. Pale, later stage, body muscle weakness, lying on the ground, cold extremities, shock and even death; acute poisoning often causes internal bleeding and death, with no obvious external symptoms.

After poisoning is discovered, the specific antidote VK1 should be used quickly to rescue the cat. 10 to 15 mg is injected intramuscularly once, 3 to 5 times a day, doubling for the first time. At the same time, it is combined with 2-5 ml of agrimonyin injection to promote the excretion of toxins. and physical strength can be restored as soon as possible, intravenous infusion of 25% glucose, VC, ATP and other drugs can be used for treatment.
