Wearing an inappropriate collar or leash is likely to make the dog feel uncomfortable. If the neck is found to be strangled with blood and flesh, pet owners should promptly take measures such as cleaning and disinfection, wound treatment, and hygiene care to deal with it.

1. Clean and disinfect the wound: If the dog's neck is strangled to bleed, you can remove the hair and use hydrogen peroxide or saline to clean the wound. After it is air-dried, apply iodophor for disinfection to prevent wound infection. In addition, wear an appropriately sized and soft Elizabethan collar on your dog, and trim his nails to prevent them from scratching when the wound heals.

2. Treat the wound: After cleaning the wound, you can sprinkle canine medicated powder or ointment on the wound to cover it, allowing the medicine to penetrate in to help keep the wound dry and hygienic, and speed up healing.

3. Hygiene care: Try not to take a bath during the recovery period to avoid wound infection, and pay attention to maintaining hygiene.
