Dogs cannot eat leeks, mainly for the following three reasons:

1. Leeks contain n-propyl disulfide, which is harmless to humans, but will cause oxidation of the dog’s red blood cells, which may cause Hemolytic anemia and hematuria.

2. Leeks, ginger, peppers and other irritating foods can easily cause symptoms such as vomiting and acute gastroenteritis after being eaten by dogs.

3. Dogs’ noses are very sensitive, and the smell of leeks is too pungent. Feeding them to dogs will affect their sense of smell.
