The main reason why dogs learn to howl like wolves is because the original dogs were domesticated by humans from wild wolves, and some dog breeds still retain the habits of wolf howls. But it could also be because it is in heat. The male dog wants to attract the attention of the female dog by imitating the wolf howl, which is actually a way of courtship between animals. Because when a dog is in estrus, it will secrete some hormones that it does not normally have, which makes it very excited and imitates howling like a wolf. If it detects danger approaching, it will also howl to warn its owner that an enemy is approaching. It is also warning of outside bad guys or other animals.

Tip:

Huskies or Alaskan dog breeds still retain some wolf blood, so Huskies sometimes howl like wolves. Sometimes it will achieve communication between dogs through this, so sometimes the dog will bark like a wolf.
