Causes of acute gastritis in dogs:

1. Acute gastritis may be caused by improper diet of dogs. The most common cause is eating spoiled food, bacteria or mold. Inflammation caused by irritation of mucous membranes.

2. When dogs ingest foreign objects or mistakenly take drugs, chemical fertilizers, herbicides and other chemical substances, they are also common causes of acute gastritis in dogs.

3. When a dog has canine distemper, infectious hepatitis or parvovirus, it can also cause gastritis.

Symptoms of acute gastritis in dogs:

1. When dogs have acute gastritis, they will have symptoms of vomiting, depression, and abdominal pain.

2. In the early stage of gastritis, dogs will vomit chyme and feel extremely thirsty, but drinking water can aggravate the vomiting symptoms.

3. When dogs have gastritis, they will have a rounded back, pain and sensitivity to abdominal pressure, dehydration, decreased skin elasticity, and sunken eyeballs.
