Comparing cats with folded ears and cats with half-folded ears, the main issue is the condition of the ears. First of all, half-folded ears indicate that the tips of the cat's ears are drooping, but the base of the ears is upright. This is often called false erect ears. Fully folded ears mean that the cat's ears have been folded down from the root of the ear, leaning toward the front. But except for the difference in ears, there is no essential difference in other situations.

Disadvantages of folded-eared cats

1. They carry genetic diseases. Fold-eared cats are born with a genetic disease of cartilage, and some cats with folded ears spend their entire lives in pain, which is why folded-eared cats are particularly well-behaved and sensible. Fold-eared cats can get sick at any time, and once they do, they will fall into endless pain.

2. High requirements for living environment. The skin resistance of folded-eared cats is relatively fragile. If it lives in a dirty environment and makes its hair dirty, it will easily develop skin diseases.

3. The later costs are very high. The later costs of raising a Fold-eared cat are very expensive, because Fold-eared cats require regular physical examinations, at least twice a year. Moreover, some Fold-eared cats take medicine throughout their lives. Once a Fold-eared cat gets sick, it will cost a lot of medical expenses. Not ordinary people can afford to raise a Fold-eared cat.

4. Poor physical condition. Fold-eared cats also have a relatively poor physique. They not only suffer from genetic diseases, but also have many other diseases, such as common systemic infections, heart disease, plague, etc. Moreover, cats with folded ears also have poor gastrointestinal conditions and are prone to symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, and soft stools.

5. The life span is very short. Under normal circumstances, the life span of a cat with folded ears is only about 10 to 14 years, and the life span of some cats with folded ears is even shorter. This is inseparable from the fact that cats with folded ears are naturally weak and sickly.
