Folded ears may not be visible as soon as a kitten is born. It usually takes one month after the kitten is born. Many kittens have curved ears when they are born. They will slowly stand up when they are one month old, and some will only stand up when they are three months old. If a cat's ears have not yet stood up at three months old, If you look up, then it is most likely a cat with folded ears. Of course, there are also other breeds or cats with born deformities whose ears are also bent.

Judgement basis for folded-eared cats

1. First, we can check the cat’s ears. The ones that start from the root of the ear or half of the ear and bend downward are Folds.

2. If the kitten’s parents have folded ears and the kitten has erect ears, you can check whether the kitten’s ears are bent downward when it is just born. The ears that were folded before and then stood up are Fold-eared cat genes.

3. If the above methods cannot determine, and the owner is very worried that his cat has a folded ear gene, he can do a cat genetic test and use scientific evidence to confirm it.
