Folded-eared cats lifting one leg from time to time may be sick. Folded-eared cats have a hereditary skeletal disease called chondroossification dysplasia. In the early stages of the disease, the cat will be inactive, and will have difficulty moving later. The cat will raise its legs because of pain. It will be more comfortable if it stays in an upright position. The owner should take the cat to the hospital for examination in time.

What does the disease look like in a cat with folded ears

1. In the early stages of the disease, the cat will be lazy, inactive, and have reduced jumping ability (previously) I can jump onto the sofa window sill, but I can’t jump on it now).

2. Gradually, cats will develop mobility impairments. The symptoms are: walking with their backs hunched over, taking every step carefully, and some even stagger and fall down after taking one or two steps.

3. Then more obvious symptoms will appear: the cat will lift its forelimbs or hind limbs. The cat's limbs will swell and lumps will appear in the joints. The cat's tail becomes stiff and cannot wag.

4. Some cats with folded ears may also experience abnormal nail growth.
