It is recommended to feed Akita dogs mainly dog food, supplemented by canned food, snacks, etc. Small Akita dogs generally eat milk cake, and it is best to soak the milk cake in warm water before giving it to the dog. You can also add some goat milk powder to enhance nutrition. Adult Akita dogs can eat adult dog food. Akita dogs are medium to large dogs and eat a large amount of food. Therefore, we must pay attention to the principle of eating small meals often and giving them plenty of drinking water. In addition, you can feed some meat appropriately, but it must be cooked meat, because raw meat may contain parasites, pathogenic bacteria, etc., which will affect the health of Akita dogs.

What Akita dogs cannot eat:

1. Sticky food. Akita dogs generally do not eat very carefully, and most of them swallow in lumps. Sticky things may stick to the esophagus as they are swallowed, causing the Akita dog to suffocate and die.

2. Milk. Although milk has high nutritional value, dogs, unlike humans, lack the corresponding conversion enzymes and are not easy to digest and absorb. Some Akita dogs will suffer from vomiting, diarrhea and other digestive tract diseases after consuming milk.

3. High-salt foods. Salt, or pickled foods such as salted fish, bacon, ham and cured meat and other foods with high salt content are very harmful to the health of Akita dogs. Akita dogs need very little salt. When preparing food for Akita dogs, if people can taste the salty taste, it means that there is too much salt. Akita dogs will be poisoned if they eat too much salt.
