Neutering a dog can greatly reduce the probability of suffering from reproductive organ diseases. If the owner does not intend to get the dog pregnant, he can avoid the dog’s estrus period when the dog is six to eight months old. During special periods, take your dog to the pet hospital for sterilization surgery. Before the dog can be neutered, the dog must be well vaccinated, have no abnormal symptoms, and have a qualified physical examination. It is sufficient to avoid food and water for about eight hours before the operation.

What should be paid attention to after dog sterilization surgery:

1. It is recommended that dogs be hospitalized for 7 days after surgery to prevent them from being active and causing wound tearing or bacterial infection.

2. Do not eat or drink 6 hours before surgery. Otherwise, the food in the dog's stomach may flow back into the trachea during surgery, causing suffocation.

3. Do not take the dog home when it is not awake. It is best to observe it in the clinic first to prevent accidents. After arriving home, choose a comfortable and clean nest and rest in a ventilated area.
