Cats cannot see infrared rays. Infrared rays and ultraviolet rays are both invisible light, so they cannot see them. Moreover, cats cannot distinguish red, and red objects appear to cats as gray.

The reasons why cats cannot play with infrared rays:

1. It is not the real thing. Cats' eyes don't have that much color, and naturally they can't see red light spots. They will soon lose interest, and the toy will be wasted.

2. It is easy to produce rebellious psychology. Because the light spot cannot be caught, if the cat has been unable to catch the light spot, it may have a rebellious mentality, become irritable, and even be unwilling to play games with its owner.

3. Easily depressed. If a cat cannot catch a light spot, it is likely to become frustrated and depressed.
