If you want to take your dog on a trip to enhance your intimacy, in modern life you will inevitably face the situation where your dog needs a ride. Taking your dog to a distant place requires taking a car. However, there are two types of dogs that make dog owners very troubled in the car. One is a dog that is too excited, and the other is a dog that is easily nervous. These two extreme personalities will make it impossible for the owner of the car to concentrate on driving. Therefore, training the dog to find a place to lie down as soon as he gets in the car will not only make the dog stable and quiet, but also make it less likely to get motion sickness when lying down.

Suitable age: 2 months-5 months

Training goal: Let the dog learn how to ride in the car obediently without affecting driving safety.

Applicable dog breeds: all dog breeds

Equipment: Transport box

Level: Middle school (improvement)-social skills training

Training cycle: 15 minutes*7 times

Steps to train your dog to “learn to ride quietly in the car”:

Step 1: Nowadays, private cars have entered more and more families. With cars, it is more convenient to take dogs out. However, taking dogs in a car is actually a lot of knowledge, and dogs are needed. Attention dog parents. The training method is: deal with dogs that are easily excited. When the dog saw the car door open, he was very excited and rushed into the car. The dog must listen to the owner and hear the "get in the car" command before it can get in the car. Before giving the bus command, the dog must wait patiently. Even if there is an urge to get on the bus, it must be stopped first.

Step 2: A dog that has just gotten into the car may become so excited that it calms down, keeps jumping back and forth, and even wants to run to the front seat. Therefore, sit next to your dog as soon as he gets in the car, and immediately comfort him or get him to sit down. When it is likely to rush forward or cannot calm down, the breeder should give the command "No" or "NO".

Step 3: Deal with dogs that are easily nervous. If you have a nervous dog, please use a transport crate from the beginning, because the transport crate can make the dog feel more secure and will not make the dog scared due to changes in the environment.

Step 4:After the dog enters the transport cage, start the engine first, but do not move. Let the dog sit in the transport cage to experience the atmosphere in the car, get used to being in the car, and understand that it is safe there.

Things to note when training your dog to “learn to ride quietly in the car”:

1. When you first start to develop your dog’s ride-hailing etiquette, it’s best to have a passenger besides the driver to help control your dog’s movements. If no one is available to help, it is recommended that dog owners prepare a transport cage and place it in the back seat. Let the dog get into the car and directly enter the transport cage. When the dog gets used to sitting in a fixed position in the car and stops barking, remove the transport cage and let the dog sit directly in the back seat.

2. At the beginning, try to find a place that is not too far from home and where you can take your dog to play, so that your dog can associate fun with riding in a car, and it will fall in love with riding in a car and will not be timid anymore. Then slowly extend the distance and time you take by car.

3. Drive carefully, because your dog does not know when the car will turn, so you should slow down when turning, and do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly.

4. If the owner leaves the car, he must take the dog with him, especially in hot summer. In a car without air conditioning, the dog may suffer from heatstroke or even death in 15 minutes!
