Dog eyes have white discharge

The reasons why dogs have white discharge from their eyes:

1. Conjunctival inflammation or corneal ulcer, infection will stimulate the eyes to secrete more white discharge.

2. If the dog drinks too little water or eats food with high salt content, the dog will have clinical manifestations of internal heat and white discharge from the eyes.

3. Dogs’ eyes that are infected and inflamed by bacteria will also secrete white sticky substance.

4. This situation can also occur when dogs are infected with viral diseases such as canine distemper.

Solutions to white discharge from dog eyes:

1. If it is caused by eye disease, the owner can drop ofloxacin eye drops or Erythromycin eye ointment and wearing an Elizabethan collar.

2. If it is caused by too little drinking water, it is recommended that the owner add more purified water to the dog.

3. If it is caused by bacterial infection, it can be treated with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs.
