Catnip will not stimulate cats to go into heat. Cats will exhibit estrus-like behaviors after smelling the smell of catnip: rolling, stepping, sniffing, meowing, etc. This is caused by the nepetalactone in catnip. Catnip does not stimulate cats to go into estrus. It only has a hallucinogenic effect on felines and has no aphrodisiac effect.

The symptoms of cats in estrus:

1. When a cat has a very strong desire to go out during the estrus period, but cannot go out, its temper will change. They become very irritable and restless, start rolling or twisting their bodies, and even become aggressive towards people or other animals, and howl loudly and piercingly late at night.

2. Another sign of a cat in heat is frequent peeing, and the urine has an unusually strong odor. In addition, male cats will also stand up and raise their tails, spraying urine everywhere to diffuse the scent, mark their territory and attract female cats. Some male cats will even mount themselves on non-estrus female cats or soft objects.

3. Affected by hormones, male cats are prone to emotional disorders during estrus. If there are no female cats around, male cats may not eat. In addition, if the male cat cannot find the female cat, he will try his best to escape, and it is easy for him to fall down or run away from home.
