The reasons why cats have a lot of eye mucus:

1. Cats don’t like to drink water, but eating too much meat will cause the cat’s eye secretions to increase when it gets angry.

2. Cats infected with viruses, such as cat nasal congestion, etc., lead to increased eye secretions.

3. Cat eye infections caused by bacteria cause conjunctivitis, resulting in increased eye secretions.

4. Some types of cats are prone to eye droppings because their faces are relatively flat and their nasal passages are short, so their eyes can easily discharge secretions, causing more eye droppings.

5. It is also possible that the cat’s eyes have been traumatized or the inverted eyelashes are too long, causing excessive secretions.

Solutions to cats with a lot of eye mucus:
1. If it is caused by diet, the cat should be allowed to drink more water and preferably eat liquid food.

2. If it is caused by a viral infection, the cat should be taken to the hospital for screening and treatment in time.

3. If inflammation is caused by bacterial infection, you should use eyewash and anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce inflammation.

4. If it is caused by trauma or inverted eyelashes, the cat should be taken to clean the excessively long inverted eyelashes and debridement and disinfection of the trauma wound.
