Obedience training is to cultivate the Pomeranian's ability to obey the owner's orders and perform certain actions, which requires the owner's patience and the dog's cooperation. The best age for obedience training: Pomeranian obedience training can start when it is 2 months old, but the best age is 6 months to 3 years old.

Stimuli used in training Stimuli used in training are divided into unconditioned stimuli and conditioned stimuli. Unconditioned stimuli include mechanical stimuli and food stimuli; conditioned stimuli mainly refer to commands, gestures, sounds, smells, etc.

(1) Mechanical stimulation. It mainly includes stroking, pulling, pressing, tapping, etc. Among them, except stroking as a means of reward, the others are all compulsory means.

(2) Food stimulation. When using food stimulation, good results can only be achieved when the dog shows sufficient interest in food (hungry state). In training, small pieces of food can be used to induce the dog to perform certain actions.

The advantage of food stimulation is that it can quickly form conditioned reflexes such as sitting down, lying down, and coming forward, and it can also enhance the dog's attachment to its owner. The disadvantage is that the dog's movements are not easy to be accurate, and dogs that do not respond strongly to food will fail in training when new stimuli appear in the environment. If mechanical stimulation and food stimulation are used together, that is, using mechanical stimulation to force the dog to perform certain actions, and then using food to reward it, good results can be achieved.

(3) Password. Only when the password is used in conjunction with the corresponding gesture can the dog form a conditioned reflex to the password. Dogs do not understand the meaning of words, but they can correctly distinguish different tones of the same command. Therefore, the tones and tones of the command issued should be different according to the different requirements for the dog. The pitch of passwords in general training is divided into ordinary pitch (medium volume). Threatening tone (stern voice). Bonus tone (soft voice).

When using passwords, attention should be paid to the independence of tones, and the pronunciation should be concise and clear. Once adopted, the password cannot be changed at will, otherwise it will affect the training effect.

(4) Gestures. It is a kind of stimulation that uses a certain posture and shape of the hand to command the dog. When using gestures, attention should be paid to the independence and legibility of each gesture, and the stereotypes and accuracy of the gestures should be maintained. Gestures should be clearly different from everyday actions.
