However, this unique standard is not recognized by other countries. Although the United States is the largest pet kingdom in the world, due to the lack of genetic requirements for breeding, the quality of border collies in the United States has become the worst in the world. This is completely different from the level of other dog breeds in the United States.

The main standard for Border Collies comes from the United Kingdom. The AKC only began to include Border Collies in competitions in 1996. At the same time, the AKC appointed the Border Collie Club of America as the standard representative of this breed. The standards of the American Border Collie Association are completely based on the British Border Collie standards.

In fact, the AKC Border Collie standard and the British Border Collie standard are different in many aspects. All Border Collie dog lovers in the world want to know, how many British Border Collie standards can AKC accept? It was adopted at the 1981 Kennel Club World Congress. In the regulations on dog breed standards, the AKC and all participating countries at the time, including the United States, agreed: "The standards of all dog breeds should be based on the standards of the country where the breed originated."

So if you want to buy a good-looking Border Collie in the United States, it is very difficult, because most American Border Collies have long mouths, but in terms of working ability, I think American Border Collies are still OK.
