The Pekingese dog originated in China. It has long been used as a reward dog for the royal palace and has been favored by dynasties throughout the ages. Due to its long-term confinement in the palace environment, the Pekingese dog has maintained its rare and pure bloodline, and at the same time it also has a somewhat elegant and mysterious aristocratic color. So what kind of morphological characteristics and living habits does it have?

Pekingese Dog [Size, Proportion and Structure]

The body is short, stocky and muscular. The forequarters should be relatively heavy. Weight under 6.35 kg (14 lbs) is ideal. Body length slightly longer than shoulder height. Overall balance is extremely important.

【Head】

Nose—Black, broad, and very short when viewed from the side. Nostrils flare. A horizontal line passing through the tip of the nose passes right through the middle of the eye.

Eyes - large, black, round, shiny, wide apart. The eye circles are dark and the whites of the eyes are not visible when the dog looks straight ahead.

Wrinkles - refers to the raised part of facial skin, covered with hair, starting from one cheek, crossing the bridge of the nose to the other cheek, dividing the face into upper and lower parts. Wrinkles should neither be so prominent that they crowd the entire face, nor be so large that they are disproportionate to the nose and eyes.

The eyebrows are deep and the bridge of the nose is not obvious.

Muzzle - Very short and broad, black in color. Beards make the entire face more oriental.
