Things to note before cat sterilization:

1. Disinfect and deworm the breeding environment in advance. The breeding environment must be dewormed and disinfected before sterilization.

2. Cat sterilization surgery should be performed at least after the first vaccination, preferably two weeks after all vaccinations are completed. Making sure the immunity is fully effective before going to the hospital for surgery can effectively reduce disease infection and contagion.

3. Give the cat a bath with warm water 2 days before the operation, fast 10 hours before the operation, and stop water 4 hours before the operation.

4. Prepare two small blankets, one to put in the box, and a bottle of chloramphenicol eye drops. Eye drops should be given to the cat from time to time after the operation.

Care items after cat sterilization:

1. Try to dim the light in the house as much as possible. Cats who are recovering from anesthesia after surgery are sensitive to light and can choose to dim it. Light or provide shading on the top of the cat's nest to reduce the light.

2. Postoperative feeding should generally follow the doctor’s instructions. If there is no special guidance from the doctor, the first feeding is usually done 3 to 6 hours after surgery. Do not force the cat to drink or eat.

3. As long as topical medicine is applied and the wound is not healed, the Elizabethan ring must be worn. After neutering, both male and female cats must wear Elizabethan rings, but the length of time they wear them varies.

4. If there are other cats and other pets at home, they should be isolated. If it is a multi-cat household with many cats in the home, or there are other free-range pets in the home, then it is recommended to keep the neutered cat in isolation and not have contact with other cats and pets for the time being. Prevent licking each other from poisoning other cats or pets or infecting the wounds of neutered cats, and prevent fighting between each other from pulling the wounds.
