German Shepherds can actually receive information from the outside world two weeks after they are born, and can be trained slowly. So how should German Shepherds be trained between the 2nd week and 7th month?

At the end of the second week, the baby shepherd dog opens its eyes and enters the third week, the "transition period." Although her eyes are open, the collie puppy still can't see. Collie puppies do not have vision until the 17th to 18th day. During this transition period, Shepherd puppies begin to socialize and lick each other. On the 21st day, the Shepherd puppies left the kennel. In a German Shepherd kennel one can see all members of the pack taking care of the Shepherd puppies. Adult male shepherd dogs will attack the collie puppies very roughly when they leave the nest. In this way, the sheepdog puppies will realize that the world outside the nest is cold and even full of dangers. This rough play will stop as soon as the Collie puppy returns to the litter. This is an important educational method for young children in the life of dogs.

From the 4th to the 7th week, the Shepherd puppy enters the "influence period". This period is crucial for the dog's subsequent behavior. All the senses of a Shepherd puppy are fully formed during this period and they can distinguish between the same kind and humans (external situations). Contact with fellow dogs and humans (especially children) is important at this stage to influence the Collie's future social behavior. Otherwise, it will become fearful of humans or act aggressively.

Between the 8th and 12th weeks is the "socialization" stage, when puppies should be educated to become a socialized member of the human-canine relationship. This requires continuous training. People cannot allow the Shepherd puppy to behave wildly because of its cuteness. People should ask it like an adult dog. If the puppy is not obedient, punishment can be taken such as stopping the game and isolating the puppy.

Of course, it is impossible for a 12-week-old Shepherd puppy to complete any training subjects, and excessive demands should not be placed on the Shepherd puppy. Play is the best way for a Shepherd puppy to learn. In the case of wild dogs and wolves, clear hierarchies are established during early childhood play to avoid injury in later fights. Our domestic dogs will also test the authority of their owners during the "leveling period" (weeks 13 to 16). During this period, the Shepherd puppy will establish a fixed position in the family (dog group).

Shepherd puppies enter the "dog group order period" in the 5th and 6th months, and people can start educating and simple training the dogs. During this period, more time must be spent with the dog, playing with the dog and going out. In this way, the learning ability of Shepherd puppies can be positively affected, the brain structure develops rapidly, the cerebral cortex also increases accordingly, and the learning enthusiasm of Shepherd puppies is promoted.

In the 7th month, the dog enters the "sexual maturity period". The male dog lifts its hind legs for the first time while urinating, and the female dog suddenly begins to attack the Shepherd puppy and enters its first estrus. At this stage, the dog may be very disobedient and even try to break the existing hierarchical order. Dog owners must maintain their authority over their dogs and must not take it lightly at any time, otherwise it will be viewed as a weakness by the dog and cause problems in the future.

Passwords must use the same language. In obedience training, the command is the signal for the dog to obey. Therefore, the training must have unified passwords, so as to achieve good results. For example, when telling a dog to sit down, whether to use sit, squat or sit down, the whole family should use a common command. Short, clearly pronounced sentences are easier for dogs to understand. Therefore, try to choose sentences of this type.
