Oriental shorthair cats are descendants of Siamese cats. Both Oriental shorthair cats and Siamese cats originated in Thailand. The only difference is the color of their coat and eyes. Some people think that the Oriental shorthair cat is a more primitive breed, and the Siamese cat is just a variant of its key color.

Appearance of Oriental Shorthair Cat

1. Head: long, which can be framed by an equilateral triangle. The side profile is straight and has no nose termination. Viewed from the side profile, the skull is slightly bulging. The muzzle is small and delicately shaped. The nose is long and pointed. Chin is of medium size.

2. Ears: large, widely spaced, wide at the base, and pointed at the tips.

3. Eyes: medium in size, almond-shaped, with sharply sloping tips. The distance between the eyes is one width. The neck is long and slender. Except for the white individuals of this species, which have blue eyes, the other individuals have emerald eyes. Individuals with red or cream coats may have yellow or bronze eyes. Note: This breed's eye color does not stabilize until it is 1 year old. The body is long, slender and tubular. The abdomen is narrow and the bones are fine. The muscles are tight and the muscle fibers are long.

4. Legs and claws: The legs are slender and proportional to the body, and the front legs are slightly shorter than the hind legs. The bones are fine. The claws are small and oval. The tail is slender and slender at the base, gradually tapering toward the tip.

5. Coat: short, dense, fine, silky, flat. Physical Condition: Muscular, strong, but not emaciated, neither underweight nor overweight.
