Misunderstandings about rabies vaccine:

1. Dogs living at home do not need to be vaccinated. As the number of dogs increases, the exchanges between relatives and friends, and the owners' outings may bring the virus to the dogs at home. Even if they do not go out, they still need to be vaccinated.

2. Get vaccinated as soon as possible after buying the puppy. Unvaccinated puppies have to gradually adapt to their new environment, eating and resting. If the puppy comes from a market where the environment is dirty, the plague is rampant, and it suffers from hunger and cold, its physical condition will definitely be very poor, and it will often be infected with terrible diseases, but it will not attack. At this time, vaccination will be counterproductive. The patient should be nursed back to health and observed for about 10 days, and then immunized after the hospital tests confirm that the patient is healthy.

3. Vaccination of the dog mother means the dog’s baby is safe. The reaction after injection of attenuated vaccine is strong and may damage the fetus. The instructions for this type of vaccine clearly state "Contraindicated for pregnant dogs." If the dog's immunity time happens to be at this time, it should wait until after breastfeeding.

4. Vaccine should be administered early and securely. Vaccines given at too young an age may be interfered by maternal antibodies, affecting the immune effect. The first batch of vaccines should be injected after 45 days, and the first batch of rabies vaccines should be injected after 3 months.

5. Vaccination is 100% guaranteed. There are hundreds of diseases that can occur in dogs, and vaccines can only prevent six or seven of them. Even if vaccinated, the dog's health should be carefully monitored.

6. Vaccination in the first year is the most important. We must pay attention to the vaccine every year, and the vaccine every year should be injected about half a month earlier than the previous year to prevent accidents when the vaccine is about to expire.

7. Get vaccinated if you are sick. You cannot vaccinate your dog when it is sick. If you think that your dog will get better after being vaccinated, then you are wrong. This will kill your dog. Dog vaccinations can only be given if the dog is in good health.
