Cats are color blind. Cats are protanopia. There are no rod cells in their eyes that can detect red, so they can only distinguish blue and green, but not red. Therefore, cats may turn gray when they see red objects. However, it doesn't mean anything to cats whether they can distinguish colors. Cats rarely need to use color vision, but they can be trained to learn about colors. Cats' vision is much more sensitive than humans' in dim light.

Use of cat’s eyes:

1. Cat’s eyes are mainly used to observe the surrounding environment, things and moving objects, and use the pupils to adjust different light strength.

2. Cat’s eyes contain pigmented reflective layers, which increase the cat’s utilization of light and improve the cat’s ability to see in dark environments.

3. Owners should try their best to protect the cat’s eyes. They can feed the cat food rich in vitamin A and taurine, or directly feed it vitamin tablets and taurine tablets.
