The Shiba Inu has a calm and docile personality, keen senses, strong body, bravery and easy training.
1. Temperament
The Shiba Inu has a somewhat bad temper and is of Chinese Pastoral Dog origin, so it is easy to be mistaken for a native dog when walking.
2. Exercise
The Shiba Inu was originally a hunting dog. It has a certain wildness and cannot be kept indoors all the time. It must be allowed to go out for walks, running, jumping and other activities.
3. Hygiene
Shiba Inu is prone to filariasis. Outdoor breeders should pay attention to the environmental hygiene of the kennel and prevent it from developing the bad habit of lying around.
4. Have more contact with the outside world
From the puppy stage, it is necessary to let the Shiba Inu have more contact with dogs and people outside, and cultivate and induce it to develop good habits of being friendly and tolerant to people. If kept in a closed environment for a long time, it will form the bad habit of being too wary of people and even treating people with a hostile attitude.
5. Hair
The coat of the Shiba Inu is dense and beautiful. It should be combed every day or every other day. Especially after returning home from activities, the dirt and dust on the coat should be removed in time, and the dog should be bathed regularly. The Shiba Inu's inner hair is the same as its outer hair, and it sheds twice a year. During the moulting period, the frequency of combing should be increased to enhance blood circulation and promote smooth and accelerated coat metabolism.
6. Be careful when walking your dog
Shiba Inu should wear a collar and a leash at ordinary times, and should be held by its owner when going out to prevent wild attacks.
7. Raising alone
The Shiba Inu is hostile to its own kind and other animals, and sometimes attacks other dogs.
