1. Coat color

Newborn Saint Bernards are all white, so you can’t tell anything about it. The coat color of 2-3 month old Saint Bernards is mostly white with rust color. You need to look at the light to see if there is any brownish-yellow or brownish-red. The coat color should be symmetrical, the neck should be all white, like wearing a white scarf, the four paws should be white, and the tail should be all white from the middle to the bottom.

2. Mouth

The mouth of a Saint Bernard must be short and wide. Some Saint Bernards have sharper or longer mouths. This is the result of mating with local dogs. The mouth should be large. A dog of 2-3 months old can basically bite more than half of his fist. , the forked edge of the mouth is black, be careful not to feed it too hot, otherwise it will turn white or red, and the roof of the mouth is black.

3. Noodles

The dark mask part should be symmetrical, the eyes should be medium in size, dark brown, clear and free of eye mucus, the ears should hang down to the mouth, and the whole head should look like a ball from a distance, and the head should be big

4. Limbs

The forelimbs are straight and long, and the bones of the hind limbs are thick and powerful.

5. Feet

The feet are very large and the toes are very raised. The dewclaws should be removed.

6. Walking

Do not tease with food. See whether the puppy is active and whether it holds the toy after throwing it. This is an important criterion for whether it can be trained in the future.

7. Tail

The tail is long and the base of the tail is high. The tail is downward when resting and raised upward when active.

Note: It is best to choose a Saint Bernard that is 4 months or older. Because weaning is basically 2 months later, puppies have lower resistance in 2-3 months. In addition, St. Bernard, who is about 4 months old, has a high body resistance and a strong body shape.
