How to deal with licking wounds of male cats after sterilization:

1. After your male cat has undergone surgery, you must remember to put an Elizabethan ring on it and wear it. The hooded cat cannot lick its own wounds, so we don’t have to worry about what to do if the male cat licks its wounds after being neutered.

2. When a male cat licks the sterilization wound, we should stop it immediately and carefully check whether there is any abnormality in the wound. Once any abnormality is found, it should be sent to the hospital for examination immediately. If the wound is only slightly red and there are no signs of cracking, then we only need to apply iodophor or erythromycin ointment to the wound.

3. If the cat resists, you can also put it in pet-specific sanitary pants.

4. When wearing the Elizabethan ring, try to wear it as tightly as possible to leave enough room for breathing. Or you can try wearing the Elizabethan ring backwards, so that it will not block the cat's view too much and the cat will not feel too uncomfortable wearing it.

Care items for male cats after sterilization:

1. After cats are sterilized, it is recommended to feed minced meat porridge, millet porridge, goat milk powder, soaked soft cat food and other easy foods in an appropriate amount. Eat digestible food, or you can feed high-nutrient canned food to help the wounds left by the surgery heal quickly. Never feed dry, hard and difficult-to-digest food to avoid indigestion and other phenomena.

2. If there are other cats and other pets at home, they should be isolated. If it is a multi-cat household with many cats in the home, or there are other free-range pets in the home, then it is recommended to keep the neutered cat in isolation and not have contact with other cats and pets for the time being. Prevent licking each other from poisoning other cats or pets or infecting the wounds of neutered cats, and prevent fighting between each other from pulling the wounds.
