What breed is the Highland Longhair cat?

Highland longhair cats are fold-eared cats. The short-haired Fold cat is the Scottish Fold, and the long-haired Fold cat is the Highland Fold. Note that there is only one breed of Scottish Fold cat with fold ears. It’s just that short-haired Fold cats are called Scottish Folds, and long-haired Fold cats are called Highland Folds.

Characteristics of Scottish Fold Cat

1. Head: round, with bulging forehead. The cheeks are round. It looks like a gentle curve when viewed from the side. Male cats have more meat, and adult male cats are allowed to have double chins.

2. Ears: Fold forward, widely spaced, and curved at the tips. The ears are medium in size and turned forward like a hat, giving the appearance of a rounder head.

3. Nose: wide and short. Slight nasal interruption is acceptable. The snout is slightly rounded. The mustache pads are round. The chin is strong.

4. Neck: The neck is not too long, but the muscles are strong and the hair is longer than other body parts.

5. Eyes: large and round, the color is based on the coat color, and the distance is quite large. The color matches the coat. The neck is short and muscular.

6. Mouth: The upper and lower jaws are strong and the bite is normal.

7. Body: medium in size, short, fat, round, and very muscular. Bone size is medium.

8. Legs and claws: length proportional to body length. The bones are of medium size, and the claws are round and compact in length commensurate with the body. The soles of the feet are round and very neat.

9. Tail: no larger than 2/3 of the body length. The base is thick, gradually tapering towards the tip of the tail, and finally the tip of the tail is rounded. Very soft and flexible.
