Training methods:

Training methods

For dogs that don’t like barking, the method of training them to bark on command is:

(1) Use food to tease them, and they will eat if they want. If it barks in a hurry, give the command "bark", then give food, and then gradually reduce the temptation of food so that it barks and stops according to the command.

(2) Usually, use the opportunity of its unconscious barking to issue the "bark" command in time, so that the purebred Afghan Hound will associate the barking with the command, and at the same time give some food rewards or verbal praise. When playing games with the Afghan hound, use toys to tease it. If it barks, reward it with the toy; if it is only excited but does not bark, tie it to a fixed object. It will be anxious to get the toy. If you have to bark, reward it at this time.

(3) Use the dog’s defensive instinct to cause it to bark. The owner holds the Afghan hound with a dog leash and asks his assistant to approach it slowly from a distance, while making threatening movements to tease it. The owner points his finger to the assistant and issues the command "bark". If the Afghan hound behaves like barking, praise and Reward it.
