The American Pitbull is a large dog that originated in the 19th century and was mainly bred from the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Bulldog. The weight range of American Bulldogs is relatively large, from 30-58 kg. It has a broad, slate-shaped head, powerful jaws, strong muscles, and a compact body. A pit bull with excellent pedigree must have a strong bite, long-lasting endurance, and amazing perseverance. Originally used as bullfighting and guard dogs, they are now mainly used as guard and pet dogs. Bit's head is unique and is the main feature of this breed.

1. American Pitbull IQ

Pit’s IQ is higher than any other dog breed, even the “Golden Retriever”, which is universally recognized as the smartest dog breed in the world! This is why Pit has always dominated the dog forest. Strength and courage alone are not enough for a bite. Pitbull, who can barely be considered a medium-sized dog, wants to defeat dogs several times his size. The most important thing is that he has a thinking mind and extremely high sensitivity. Obedience training for Pitbulls is very easy and incredibly trainable. A smart thinking mind prevents you from trying to trick Bit out of anything he is interested in!

2. Characteristics of American Pitbull

Head: Eyes of medium size, round to almond-shaped, widely set apart and set low on the skull. The ears are set high and can be kept as they are or cropped. The nose is large and broad, with nostrils widely separated. The nose can be any color.

Body: The chest is deep, substantial, and of adequate width, with sufficient room for the heart and lungs, but the width of the chest should not exceed its depth. The chest should not be much wider than the shoulders. The ribs are well sprung from the spine and flattened at the end, forming a deep trunk near the elbows. The back is strong, broad, muscular, and level. The topline slopes slightly downward from withers to back.

Tail: The tail is a natural extension of the topline, tapering gradually. When the dog is relaxed, the tail is held low and ends near the hock joint. When the dog is in motion, the tail is held level with the rear half of the topline. When a dog is excited, its tail will be erect and pointed upward.

Coat: The coat is smooth, shiny, dense, and slightly hard to the touch. Coat of all colors, spotted, or mottled is acceptable.

Gait: The American Pit Bull moves happily and confidently, carefree, with an expression eager to discover new things at any time. When trotting, the gait is easy, smooth, powerful, and well coordinated, showing good extension of the forelegs and powerful push of the hind legs. During movement, the backline remains level with only slight fluctuations.
