Dogs who eat 25% less food live 50% longer

For dogs, it is healthy to eat small meals frequently:

In order to prove the correct way of eating for dogs, someone once conducted an experiment. The experiment was designed like this: 48 2-week-old dogs were divided into two groups. One group consumed 1745±46 kcal per day, and the other group ate 25% less and consumed 1352±34 kcal per day. Then he was raised in a dog pen. The experiment lasted for 14 years and ended only when the last dog died.

(Because it takes a long time and costs a lot, at the end of the experiment, half of the people who participated in the experiment reached retirement age. So this is a rare experiment.)

The test results are as follows:

1. There is no difference between the dogs who eat 25% less every day and the other group of dogs who are full in terms of happiness and mobility. At the same time, dogs that eat less weigh 20% less than dogs that eat enough;

2. In the first five years, there was no difference between the two groups of dogs. After 5 years, the difference becomes apparent: dogs that are well fed begin to develop obesity, osteoporosis, and diabetes. By the 7th year, dogs are aging rapidly and dying one after another. However, dogs who do not eat enough are still very healthy, and the onset of aging is several years later.

3. In the end, dogs who eat 25% less have a 50% longer life span, and the average life span is 1.5 times that of dogs who eat well. Moreover, the quality of life of these dogs in their later years is much better than that of well-fed dogs.

Therefore, it is recommended that you try to keep your dog 80% full. The concept of a dog being 80% full is: stop eating after the climax. When you want to fill up another bowl of rice, stop and pat your belly. It feels like you have not finished eating. Of course, dogs of different ages need different calories and nutrients.
